“Petru Poni” Institute of Macromolecular Chemistry (PPIMC)

The “Petru Poni” Institute of Macromolecular Chemistry is an Institute of excellence of the Romanian Academy. Established in February 1949, the Institute has a long tradition of over fifty years in fundamental and applied research in the field of organic and inorganic chemistry, polymer chemistry and physics.

“Petru Poni” Institute of Macromolecular Chemistry (PPIMC) has a broad experience in different research areas related to ERIFORE topics such as biomass fractionation and characterization, nanomaterials, polymer processing and composites. PPIMC has also experience in applied research, technology transfer and small-scale production (industrial technologies for silicones, polyurethanes and ion exchangers of different types and functions, as well as for specialty polymeric materials – porous microparticles for the treatment of   the   infected wounds). Our portofolio contains more than 1500 scientific papers published the last ten years (most of them in international journals). PPIMC has also experience and skilled personnel to manage and administrate national research projects and EU-projects.
