Institut National de la Recherche Agronomique (INRA)

INRA is a national public scientific and technical establishment with a staff of 8500 including 2000 permanent researchers located in 17 research centres in France, under the joint authorities of the ministries of Research and Agriculture. Its main mission is to produce and transfer scientific knowledge and to develop innovations and know-how in the domains of agriculture, food and environment including the forest bioeconomy. INRA is a leading institution in the fields of agronomy, plant and animal sciences. It produces research, expertise and information services to the public and private sectors as well as international organizations. INRA possesses extensive research infrastructures and facilities related to sustainable forest management and biomass production (EFPA scientific department) and biomass treatment, chemistry, and biotechnical production (CEPIA scientific department).
