Bio Base Europe Pilot Plant (BBEU)

Bio Base Europe Pilot Plant (www.bbeu.org) is a flexible and diversified pilot plant for the development, scale-up and custom manufacturing of innovative biobased processes and products. Operating at kilogram to multi-ton scale, it offers a large variety of expertise and equipment for biomass pretreatment, biocatalysis, fermentation, green chemistry and downstream processing. As a one-stop-shop, it can perform the entire value chain, from the green resources up to the pure and refined product. Bio Base Europe Pilot Plant closes the gap in the innovation chain of the bio-based economy, turning research into industrial production. Operating as an open innovation service model, companies and research institutes throughout the world can make use of this pilot facility for their bio-based technological developments. BBEPP is a not-for-profit SME located in the port of Ghent in Belgium.
