The ERIFORE Kick-off meeting was successfully held in Espoo, Finland, on 19th and 20th January 2016. The event was hosted by VTT on its premises in Otaniemi. Representatives of the 13 consortium organisations from 10 European countries took part in this official start up of the project.
The Kick-off meeting provided participants with the opportunity to get to know each other, review the scope of this new two-year project, specify the responsibilities of each organisation and define the framework and time frame for their work to successfully meet the project objectives. During the Work Package (WP) Workshops action plans for each WP were discussed and established in order to share methodology, partner roles and task responsibilities for the first upcoming deliverables.
The meeting agenda covered the following key aspects:
▪ Introduction and project overview
▪ General WP presentations
▪ Management and financial issues
▪ Presentations of project partners
▪ WP Workshops
▪ The first General Assembly Meeting
The participants of the kick-off meeting visited also Bioruukki Pilot Centre, which is VTT’s new innovation and demonstration platform for bio- and circular economy technologies. The operations of the pilot centre have started with thermochemical platform in autumn 2015, and the pilot centre will grow with biomass processing and green chemistry platforms in 2017-18.
